New York Counties
New York has 62 counties, each with its own County Clerk that records deeds, mortgages, liens, and other land documents. County Real Property Tax Service offices maintain tax maps and assessment rolls for all properties in their jurisdiction. In New York City, property records for five boroughs are handled through the Department of Finance and ACRIS rather than individual County Clerks. Outside the city, each county operates independently with its own recording fees, search tools, and office procedures. Select a county below to find contact info, recording details, and resources for property records in that area.
